Objective: The objective of this work was to compare the performance of a new flexible catheter (Ingamed®) with another catheter already widely used in human reproduc- tion with proven efficacy (Sydney IVF®). Methods: Prospective and randomized study performed in 93 patients undergoing in-vitro fertilization. The patients were divided in two groups according to the cath- eter used for embryo transfer: group 1 (n=46), transfers were made using Sydney’s catheter, and group 2 (n=47), patients had their embryos transferred using Ingamed’s catheter. The catheters’ performance was assessed by the analysis of pregnancy and implantation rates. Results: When transfer was carried out using Ingamed’s catheter, pregnancy rate was 42.55% and implantation rate was 20%. Sydney’ catheter yielded pregnancy and implantation rates of 45.65% and 21%, respectively. Conclusions: Our results show that there were no significant differences in pregnancy and implantation rates between the two groups tested.
