Abstract

The sperm bank is a fundamental part of an assisted reproduction unit, aiming the maintenance of ejaculates, testicular biopsies or epididimal samples at low temperatures, to be employed in the future. The samples can be obtained from patients undergoing assisted reproduction treatments, or from males donating their gametes to couples or unmarried women in need. Our aim with this work was to compile all the available information regarding methodologies, organization, needs and possibilities offered by a Sperm Bank.
