Abstract

Recent evidences suggests that implantation depends on balanced expression of several proteins and growth factors. Thereby, the preparation of endometrium for implantation do not depends just on steroid hormones stimulation, but also on an interaction with blastocysts. Growth factor, cytokines, transcription factors, adhesion molecules secreted by the embryo and by the endometrium are the responsibles for the adequate endometrial diferentiation that promotes implantation. This paper reviews the function of some of these critical elements in implantation.
