Abstract
Objective: Medically assisted procreation aims to circumvent one of the biggest reproductive health problems: infertility. The objective of this study is to correlate the number of mature oocytes obtained with the biological characteristics of the donors and to create anti-müllerian hormone cutoff values to optimize the method of selecting candidates for gamete donation.
Methods: The donors (healthy women) of the Public Gamete Bank, between 2011 and 2021, serve as an example of a population sample so that the results obtained can be used as a national indicator of fertility.
Results: It was found that a higher dosage of anti-müllerian hormone corresponds to a greater number of antral follicles and oocytes obtained. It was also demonstrated that with increasing age the number of oocytes collected decreases. The suggested cutoff for the value of anti-müllerian hormone for the donation to be completed is 1.12 ng/mL.
Conclusion: The study of the reproductive health of the Public Gamete Bank donors benefits from the homogenization of the anti-müllerian hormone cutoff value for national use, through the standardization of laboratory techniques in medical centers, as well as from the perception of factors that compromise the success of the donation. In this way, a more rigorous selection of candidates will be possible in order to increase the success rate of donations.
