Abstract

A couple, she is 31 and him is 38 years old, with infertility by severe oligospermy, following ICSI, returned to the clinic in order to try a new gestation using then the frozen eggs. The endometium was prepared with 17b Estradiol. Three days before the transfer, the patient started using oral progesterone 600mg/day. Two days before the transfer the 8 oocytes were thawed. Six oocytes survived and 5 were inseminated by ICSI.Obtained 100% fertilization and cleavage. ln the second day 4 embryos were transferred, 3 with 2 cells and I with 3 cells, all grade II. The hormonal support was maintained with 10mg/day of 17b Estradiol and 600mg/day of progesterone orally. Six weeks of gestation, a gestational sac was observed with a fetus with fetal heart beat. The hormonal therapy were maintained until 12 weeks of gestation. A cesarean section occurred with 38weeks of gestation. The baby girl was born with 2880g, and measured 48,5cm, with Apgar of 9 in the first and fifth minute of age. After 30 days of age the child weighted 3570g with 54cm of length. At the physical examination realized 30 days after bom the girl showed ali and perfect signs. Although the number of children born using egg cryopreservation is still low, the advantages are clear. The protocol used here has the best chances to the eggs to survive when compared to others in the literature.Specially, because it was possible to obtain high rates of survival following thawing, as such as high rates of fertilization.
