Abstract
The objective of this study was examining the impact of male factors on ICSI outcome, based on clinical laboratory data.Two groups were divided according indication: Group A: ICSI treatment indicated by severe male factor infertility (sperm concentration <1x106/ml; sperm motility <10% ) and Group B: ICSI cycles indicated by absence of male factor. The maternal age was ≤35 years old and the nurnber of oocyte retrieval was ≥4 in both groups. Our data suggest an evidence linking oligoasthenozoospermia with poor embryo quality and an increased incidence of miscarriage rates in patients who underwent to ICSI cycles. It appears that some paternally derived factors could play an important role in the chromosomal package of new embryo.
