In 2015, arrived in Brazil a new infectious agent, by the time still unknown, but provoked great impacts socially and scientifically, mostly in the areas of health and human reproduction. The Zika virus, detected before in past decades in Africa and Southeast Asia, appeared first in the Northeast of Brazil, in October of the said year, mostly in the state of Pernambuco with 25,9% of the suspected cases. The outbreak continued until the following year, causing civil unrest, health alerts and unrest of the scientific community for more information’s and studies about the infectious.
