Abstract
OBJECTIVE: to identify the low prognosis in-vitro fertilization patients under the POSEIDON criteria in Centro de Fertilidad y Ginecología del Sur. METHODS: retrospective study in 412 in-vitro fertilization patients, identifying POSEIDON groups and cumulative live-birth rate in each group. RESULTS: 13.1% of patients met the POSEIDON criteria, and the proportion of cases in POSEIDON groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 were 20.4%, 31.5%, 14.8% and 33.3%, respectively. Cumulative live-birth rate was 25.9% in the entire POSEIDON group, and it was 45.5%, 29.4%, 25.0% and 11% in POSEIDON groups 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively, although these differences were not statistically significant due to the small number of cases. CONCLUSION: This study defines the four POSEIDON groups in CFGS, and allows us to reaffirm both age and number of mature oocytes retrieved as determining parameters in the prognosis of pregnancy in IVF/ICSI patients.
