Abstract

The use of acupuncture together with to Assisted Reproduction Technologies (ART) is not a common practice among fertility consultants. The present case report describes a pregnancy and a birth after the successful use of acupuncture for the treatment of male infertility in an azoospermic patient. The patient received a total of 11 treatments for a period of three months. After the treatment, enough spermatozoa for ICSI were detected in his ejaculate. Six embryos were generated of which two were transferred resulting in a single pregnancy and the birth of a healthy baby.
