Abstract
Spain has been one of the first countries that regulated the use of assisted reproductive techniques, in the in the eighties. Since then, the use of these techniques has increased by national but also, in a very high percentage, by foreign users. This is precisely due to the potential of our regulatory framework. The legislation has evolved towards a more open system, but with more control in its application.
