Abstract
Objective: determinate the relation between transference day and embryo quality and its influence on pregnancy rate.
Methods: eight hundred and three (803) cycles of ICSI were analyzed, retrospectively. Patients were classified into two groups, based on embryos transference day. GROUP 01 and 02 to transferences on 48hs (D+2) and on 72hs (D+3), respectively. Statistical study was done using x2 test, significance level of p<0,05.
Results: The rate of pregnancy on patients with their embryos transferred on the third Day is significantly higher (45,3%) when compared with patients of the GROUP 01, with embryos transferred on the second day (27,65%). There were more quality A embryos transferred on day 3 (51%) than embryos transferred on Day 2 (40%). Abortion rate was higher on transferences with 48hs after ICSI (31,3%) when compared with 72hs (28,15%).
Conclusion: Confirming presented previous studies, the quality of transferred embryos, as well as pregnancy rate, is higher on transferences made within 72hs after ICSI, when compared within 48 hs.
