Transference of embryos cultivated independently in Essential and Sequential culture medium improves the rates of pregnancy in treatments with techniques of in vitro fertilization

Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the impact of the simultaneous transfer of embryos cultivated independently in two different kinds of culture medium. Methodology: After follicular aspiration, the oocytes of each patient were divided in two groups and incubated for 2 hours according to the culture medium to be used until the embryo transfer, Essential or Sequential (Givf). After the 2h of incubation, the oocytes denudation were performed and after more 1h the insemination were realized by ICSI. Just after insemination, the oocytes pre-incubated in Essential and Givf were cultured individually in Essential and Sequential (G1) respectively. The fertilization were evaluated 19h after ICSI and one day after (Day2) we realized the classification and embryo transfer. All transfers were realized in G2, and at least 1 embryo from each culture medium was chosen. Results: The pregnancy outcomes of cycles which realized mixing culture (bhcg = 51,85%) were significantly higher (p=0,00230) than the cycles that were cultivated only in G1 (bhcg = 36,68%) and superior (p = 0,09134) to than that were cultivated and transferred only in Essential (bhcg = 44,2%). Conclusion: The compound culture system, showed better results in relation to the sequential (p<0,05). The diversity of culture medium showed to privilege a higher income of the embryo implantation potential on a same IVF cycle.
