Abstract
The paper aims to review the role of anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) in the ovary. Several studies have showed that AMH has na inhibitory effect on primordial follicle recruitment and it decreases the sensitivity of follicles to FSH-dependent selection for dominance. Besides its physiological roles in the ovary, AMH serum level has proved to be an excellent marker of ovarian reserve.
