The assisted reproduction lead to disjunction between reproduction and sexuality, which is a result from the sexuality without reproduction. This was fi rst a consequence of the contraceptive methods. Now, it is noticed that both son and parents will also have – as part of their story – in place of the sexual relation, proceedings, laboratorial exams and the doctor’s presence in this scene that turns to have an unconscious representation. Other authors speak about resulting in the sociological consequences followed by dissociation between sexuality and procreation what brings an asymmetry that disappears. The Assisted Reproduction Techniques (ART) evidence an incidence of the symbolic order over the body with effects of directing choices and behavior. The symbolic dimension of the father´s function his gives the man a place beyond his reduction to a sperm. It is necessary two genitors, the father and the mother, so that a child can be born. The distinction between genitor and father reveals the paternal function, once that a son is nether an ovum nor a sperm. This is what Jacques Lacan refers in 1960 when he speaks of “The Assisted Reproduction of the Future” which evidences the Father in its function. Each subject will need to come to be, beyond his story and the happenings from his origin.
