Abstract
The advanced maternal age is one of the main problems in assisted reproduction. The decline of fertility with age is well established, and it occurs in natural conception cycles as well in assisted reproduction procedures. The author reviews the possible ways of improving the pregnancy rates in older women, including high older embryo transfer, assisted embryo hatching and co-culture and experimental technologies, as oocyte nuclear transfer and ooplasmic transplantation.
