Abstract

Introduction: Percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) have been broadly discussed in several papers. Different po ints are related t o the number of spermatozoa, age of patients and incidence of azoospermia findings. ln the present paper, we have studied those characteristics and we have showed the importance in our days. Material and Methods: A total of 79 patients were submitted to PESA in ambu latorial level with place anaesthesia. Parallelly, we have done a clinic study of infertility etiology and analysis of the number in laboratory. ResuIts: ln 66 cases we had obstructive azoospermia (83,54%) as follows 17 vasectomized (25,77%). In I I cases we had non obstructive azoospermia (13,92%), 1 Kartagener Syndrome (1,27%) and I injurie medular (1,27%). Conclusion: The obstructive azoospermia was present in the majority o f cases. Interesting cases of cystic fibrosis, Kartagener Syndrome and inj ries medular were rel ated . On the other hand, the findings of number of spermatozoa were much variable. Finally, we concluded that percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) needs to be more emphasized with the progress and advances of testicular-epididymal anatomyphysiology studies.
