Abstract
Introduction : Propofol was observed for ambulatory anaesthesia to the application of techniques of assisted reproduction.
Material and Methods : A total of 50 patients submitted to the application of techniques of assisted reproduction, in the Human Reproduction Center of
Sinhá Junqueira Maternity, presenting ASA I, with an average of 30±4 years old, weighing 50.7±4.1kg were submitted to anesthesia with propofol 2.5mg/kg. The vital parameters observed before, during and after the anaesthesia were the following: arterial pressures (systolic, medium and diastolic) frequency and cardiac rhythms, peripheral oxymetry and frequency and respiratory rhytmys. Besides that, it was also observed: the average time of procedure length, of the loss and recovery of conscience and the necessary time to the hospital discharge, in same way as the number of subsequent doses after the induction and the presence of side effects.
Results: No alterations in the vital cardiocirculatory and respiratory parameters have occurred. The hospital discharge occurrred about 90 minutes after the anaesthesia, with ali patients in good conditions.
Conclusion: The propofol showed advantages, as the principal venous anaesthetic agent in the ambulatory anaesthesia where assisted reproduction techniques demanded it.
