Introduction: The probability of success that could be offered to the patients who underwent a vasectomy reversal has been different among the authors. Some aspects have been thought to justify this differences like the surgeon experience, age, time between operations and microsurgical technique. We studied the influence of this characteristics over the surgical results. Material and Methods : We studied 54 vasovasostomies performed b y microsurgical technique with separated suture on one layer. After reversion the patients were followed by difJerent periods, since 6 months to 7 years. The patients were classified between two groups according to the age and to the period between the surgeries. We used the qui-square test to determine the statistical significance. Results: We observed that the patency rate didn't change significantly among the patients. The period oftime between the surgeries, instead, showed a statistically significant difference in recovering fertility, 62% of that patients who underwent the reversal surgery before 84 months, 7 years, got their wives pregnant. Among that patients that waited more than 7 years for vasovasostomy only 41% achieved pregnancy, (p<0, 05). Conclusion: We concluded that those patients who ask for the vasectomy reversal after 7 years should be warned about their fewer possibilities to recover fertility.
