Abstract
Although platelet-rich plasma (PRP) represents an innovative technique with promising results in different areas of medicine, several questions remain open, and its use in human reproduction continues to be considered experimental. This limitation stems mainly from the scarcity of robust clinical studies and the heterogeneity in the methods of preparation and application of PRP, factors that hinder the comparison between research and contribute to the inconsistency of the available results. The objective of this study is to evaluate the different applications of PRP in reproductive medicine and its effects on patients with infertility, through a narrative review. The findings of this review suggest that the use of PRP may be associated with a significant improvement in pregnancy rates compared to control groups, in addition to potentially favoring the results of assisted reproduction treatments in humans.
